Spring is in the air! ….at least it feels like it around here.  Not only has the best baseball team in the world (aka the Detroit Tigers) signed Prince Fielder for the next 9 years, but we are getting ready to ship out some great Studio 431 benches for the newly constructed Miami Marlins baseball stadium.  Marlins Park is located just outside of downtown Miami.  You can follow the construction here.

The benches will provide “cabana” style seating for one of the unique areas in the stadium.  Although the official name is to be determined, The Clevelander Poolside Bar will bring a south beach atmosphere to left center field.  In addition to the cabana seating the area will also feature a pool access to cool down while enjoying the sluggers of summer.  For more information, click here.

 

We worked with Populous out of Kansas City on the seating design and it was a great collaboration between our two teams.  The seating framework is fabricated using powdercoated steel sheet.  Our recycled plastic material, polysite, is being used for the back and side/arm slats.  An exterior grade cushion will be used for the seat portion of the bench.  The benches are shipping in assembled sections that will be bolted together at the site during installation.  Open cabinets on the underside of the seat will allow visiting fans to store their jackets, flip-flops, towels, etc… and help keep the area clean.

…I’ve heard a rumor that if you look close enough, you might find a small Detroit Tigers logo located somewhere on the underside of the bench.  …but that’s just a rumor…
